Rather, Debt Settlement works through a process of negotiation. In this manner, large amounts of debt are forgiven, and never need to be repaid. Debt settlement only works for unsecured debt, such as credit card debt, medical bills, department store cards, gas, cards, unsecured personal loans, auto loans, and utility bills. Mortgage loans and student loans are not eligible.
